Subscribe to the MathBio email list
Truman's Mathematical Biology Initiative uses an email list to stay in contact with faculty and students whose interest intersect ours. Using the list, we announce the topics of upcoming Mathematical Biology Seminars, pass on information about about internships of interest to undergraduates, and share news about upcoming conferences that might interest faculty or be good vanues for student presentations or posters. More information about how to join the list after the jump.
By joinging our list you will learn about seminars that are happening on- (and off-) campus that might be of interest to community members. You will also learn of opportunities to do interdisciplinary undergraduate research and about the work other students have done in the last year as part of the Mathematical Biology Initiative.
The Mathematical Biology Initiative will educate faculty, students, staff, and administration of the value and importance of interdisciplinary training for students of the mathematical and biological sciences, and it will try to disseminate what we learn locally to a wider national audience.
If you would like to stay informed of activities relating to Truman's Mathematical Biology Initiative, subscribe to our email list. There are several ways to do this.

Using your favorite email client, compose an empty email to mathbio-join@pyrite.truman.edu and send it. (The subject line and body of the email will be ignored.) The list manager will automatically reply with instructions on how to activate your membership.
Subscribe via the web
Using your favorite web browser, go to http://pyrite.truman.edu/mailman/listinfo/mathbio/ , look for the section marked ``Subscribing to MathBio'' and fill in the boxes. When filling out the boxes, keep in mind that
- You must enter your email address.
- You may choose to supply your real name.
- You may choose a password. If you do not choose one, Mailman will generate one for you. Do NOT use a valuable password, since this password may occasionally be mailed to you in plain text.
Shortly after you do this, you should receive an auto-generated message welcoming you to the list and the community.
Other notes
Messages sent through the mathbio listserv are archived at http://pyrite.truman.edu/pipermail/mathbio/. These archives are public; you needn't be subscribed to the listserv to browse the messages.
The previous listserv was hosted by the Mathematics and Computer Science division's kronos server using the Ecartis listserv manager. This manager did not archive emails sent through the list. In October 2005, the list was moved to the Mathematical Biology Initiative's pyrite server where GNU Mailman was employed to manage the list.
