LaTeX for Biologists

If you've spent any time with the people of the Mathematical Biology program, you'll know that the mathematicians and computer science folks love this technical typesetting system called LaTeX. For some who are completely at home with Microsot Word, it's hard to understand why LaTeX is such an attractive way to create documents. READ MORE after the jump.

LaTeX is a tool that biologists can use to great effect, especially as research in the life sciences become more deeply related to the mathematical sciences.

LaTeX Style and BiBTeX Bibliography Formats for Biologists is a web site for Biologists that shares reasons for using LaTeX (over word processors), lists journals that will accept manuscripts prepared in LaTeX, and points the reader to resources for learning and using LaTeX. It's a must-have resource for biologists who are using LaTeX as part of their research-workflow.
